Construction Craft Reps are full-time on-site personnel whose responsibilities center around the effective planning, coordination, and constraint removal for on-site construction activities.
Working closely with Superintendents, the Construction Craft Rep will consider the Engineering, Planning, Procurement, Execution, Safety, Quality and Commissioning requirements for their assigned scope of work to ensure that construction activities may be completed in a safe, efficient, and productive manner.
Project Responsibilities Each Construction Craft Rep is responsible for the timely scoping and development of IWPs that are necessary for execution of their respective discipline or area of assignment.
Reporting directly to the AWP Coordinator, Construction Craft Rep will be responsible for the following:
Project Planning:
Participate in construction strategy meetings and provide input into execution plans and area-based sequencing Work closely with Construction Craft Reps from other disciplines to promote discipline alignment including safety and shared resources (equipment, scaffolding, etc.
), as well as to ensure that execution sequences are logical and well-coordinated Participate in resource planning conversations Consideration and preserve the Path of Construction in planning efforts and activities Review engineering design deliverables to ensure the potential for safe and effective scope execution Coordinate with Project Controls to provide input into Level 4 Schedule execution sequencing Attend weekly War Rooms IWP Development and Implementation With the support of Superintendents, assess and break down Construction Work Packages (CWPs) into IWPs that allow effective, safe and constraint-free scope executionIWPs are generated 90 days from the planned date of execution Develop a release plan for IWPs that supports the Superintendent's strategy for work scope execution Develop IWPs that are useful and effective tools for Foreman to execute specific scopes of work efficiently and effectively in the field.
This includes all relevant documents, data, and drawings that are required to execute the work.
Develop an ongoing channel of communication with Superintendents to ensure that IWPs consider field conditions, discipline standards or limitations and other trade perspectives as required Identify, manage, and mitigate (where possible) constraints associated with each IWP Collaborate with other project departments to obtain input and data required to develop IWPs Identify design concerns and submit Requests for Information (RFIs), as necessaryConstruction Craft Reps may delegate RFI generation as required Perform ongoing reviews of IWP packages with General Foremen to ensure a thorough understanding of daily and weekly construction activities required to maintain scheduling targets Perform IWP close-out reviews and use as a feedback loop for ongoing improvement for IWP development Where applicable, build Test Work Packages (TWPs) and sequence to minimize test durations and labor requirements Identify lessons learned and record in the project lessons learned log Progress and Reporting Complete quantity surveys, monitor, and update construction progress In coordination with Quality, close out IWPs when complete and, when needed, reassign tasks to other IWPs or Work-to-Go lists Ensure progress reported is accurate Provide IWP completion updates to the Project Controls team QualificationsConstruction Craft Rep require a specialized skillset to be effective in their role.
These individuals must not only have substantial construction experience but must also be able to respond to rapid change, problem-solve, and leverage technology to improve execution performance potential.
The following qualifications are required of Construction Craft Reps on the USGC II - OSBL project:
Education and Experience Engineering degree
5 years of site-based construction experience Engineering diploma
5 years of site-based construction experience Construction Craft Trade Professional
2 years of supervisory experience (General Foreman, Superintendent) Knowledge Areas Understanding of methods of construction and industry best practices Broad understanding of general industry construction methods Specialized understanding of single or multiple construction disciplines (civil, structural, electrical, etc.
) Understanding of project controls practices and procedures Understanding of industry and jurisdictional safety requirements and legislation Technical Skills Reading and interpreting technical drawings and blueprints Reading and interpreting project schedules Reading and interpreting quality documentation including Inspection and Test Plans, torque sheets, weld mapping, etc.
Technical writing Interpreting project procedures and applying requirements to planning workflows Ability to identify construction execution risks and propose mitigation strategies Ability to identify execution constraints and resolve as required Ability to use Microsoft Office applications Soft Skills Leadership abilities Conflict resolution skills Public speaking skills Ability to work independently or as part of a team Self-starter; individually motivated.
Doesn't require detailed work instructions to complete a task.
PHYSICAL DEMANDSEmployee will be required to communicate in person, via telephone, email, video chat and software systems.
Position will include visits to maintenance sites and industrial facilities requiring mobility (on ground and at heights) and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) including but not limited to:
hard hat, safety glasses/goggles, ear plugs/muffs, masks/respirators, safety vests, gloves and work boots.
WORK ENVIRONMENTEmployee will work in multiple environments including an office, warehouse and in a trailer or building on sites.
On work sites noise levels will be moderate to high.
Job site will contain:
light to heavy equipment vehicles, small to large equipment, materials, communication equipment and tools, people standing, walking, sitting, signaling and talking, bells whistles and alarms.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
