Primary Duties & Responsibilitieso Monitors and ensures that all systems residing on the network are maintained and secure.
o Perform and test routine system backups and restores.
o Administer and maintain network firewall systems and devices.
o Manage end-user accounts, permissions, access rights, and storage allocations.
o Audit network log files for network use.
o Maintains documentation of all Network systems utilization and deployments.
o Maintain LAN/WAN data communication equipment.
o Develop recommendations and proposals for specialized systems and enhancements designed to meet unique local requirements, improve operational efficiency, and resolve critical problems.
o Install, configure, and troubleshoot network and application server hardware, operating-system software, and peripheral network equipment such as bridges, routers, firewalls, switches, network interface cards, modems, multiplexers, and concentrators.
o Performing all other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
At a minimum, the IT Network Specialist must have an associate's degree (bachelor's degree is preferred) in information technology, computer science, or related field of study, along with 2
years of IT network/support experience and proven knowledge of network, PC, platform operations systems, designing and implementation of LAN, WAN, MAN, and WLAN networks, network capacity planning, network security principles, and general network management best practices.
Certifications in Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP), Cisco Internet Expert (CCIE), and/or other related technical certification is preferred.
