Interviews, takes applications, and prepares loans for credit approval.
Completes loan servicing and disbursements as needed.
Responsible for performing a variety of member services such as opening and closing consumer and business accounts, renewing term share accounts and assisting members with bookkeeping and checking account problems.
Answers member questions regarding Credit Union services provided and performs a variety of account maintenance.
Attends to telephone inquiries and transactions for members.
Performs all teller functions as needed.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES Assumes responsibility for the effective performance of loan interviews and clerical support functions.
Interviews and assists members with applications for loans and Credit Union services.
Calculates terms, finance charges, insurance rates, etc.
on loans for proper disclosure on promissory notes.
Receives, reviews, and processes related paperwork and refers loan applications to Loan Officers.
Follows up on paperwork to ensure its completeness and accuracy.
Receives and reviews share-secured loan applications from members and approves within specific lending guidelines only.
Performs coding and posting functions and prepares all necessary documents for closing of consumer loans as needed.
Quotes payoff balances and provides credit ratings.
Quotes NADA vehicle values.
Prepares miscellaneous documents and reports and maintains related records.
Ensures that services are provided in accordance with established Credit Union policies and are legally compliant.
Ensures that interviews and service requests are properly documented.
Assumes responsibility for the effective and professional performance of member service functions.
Presents and explains Credit Union services and products to members and assists in meeting their financial needs.
Opens and closes consumer and business accounts.
Order checks for member accounts.
Take requests for new and replacement Debit/Credit cards.
Cancel lost and stolen Debit/Credit cards.
Process member requests for statement copies, photocopies of checks and statement printouts.
Answers questions and solves problems for members by listening to problems, collecting data, securing answers and reporting results to the inquiring party.
Resolves member bookkeeping and checking account problems.
Takes stop payment orders and wire transfer requests.
Completes payroll deductions and authorization forms.
Renew and updates term share accounts.
Process temporary check requests.
Receives and directs members and telephone calls.
Responds to inquiries and questions, if possible, or directs them as necessary.
Records and relays messages.
Logs onto phone and is available to answer member service and lending queue calls when not assisting members.
Verifies, completes and returns faxes requested for verification of deposits or information.
Answers questions regarding IRAs and process account requests.
Performs file maintenance and account changes as needed.
Assumes responsibility for efficient, effective, and accurate performance of teller functions, as needed.
Represents the Credit Union in a courteous and professional manner.
Receives share deposits in person or by mail.
Receives loan payments in person or by mail.
Properly computes interest.
Processes cash advances, cashier's checks, government bonds and similar transactions.
Disburses cash or check share withdrawals in person, by telephone, or by mail.
Processes transfers.
Opens and closes computer terminal and accounts daily.
Processes assigned cash, transactions, and balances at end of day.
Verifies transactions.
Monitors deposit amounts and examines documents for endorsement and negotiability.
Detects and resolves discrepancies promptly.
Assumes responsibility for establishing and maintaining effective and professional business relationships with members.
Addresses members' requests and questions promptly and courteously.
Receives and screens visitors and telephone calls.
Informs members of Credit Union policies and services.
Provides routine information concerning loan applications, account balances, payroll deduction plans, etc.
Maintains the Credit Union's quality and professional reputation.
Maintains member confidentiality.
NON-ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES Assumes responsibility for establishing and maintaining effective coordination and communication with area personnel and with management.
Assists and replaces area personnel as needed.
Attends and participates in meetings and training as required.
Keeps management informed of area activities and of any significant problems.
Assumes responsibility for related duties as required or assigned.
Actively and professionally cross-sells Credit Union services.
Performs related clerical duties as needed.
Keeps work area clean and well maintained.
Completes special projects and other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Education/Certification:
High school graduate or equivalent.
Required Knowledge:
General knowledge of financial products and services.
Experience Required:
Minimum six months of new accounts or loan interviewing experience.
Skills/Abilities:
Excellent communication and public relations skills.
Good organization skills and attentive to detail.
Proficient typing/data entry abilities.
Able to operate related computer applications, and related business equipment including telephone, calculator, and adding machine.
Cooperative and able to coordinate well with others.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Education/Certification:
None Preferred Knowledge:
Understanding of loan interview procedures.
Basic understanding of financial operations is strongly preferred.
Experience Preferred:
Previous experience with a full-service financial institution helpful.
One to two years of new accounts or loan interviewing experience.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
